Bring Your Dog on Holiday to the Cotswold Lakes
Bringing your dog on holiday shouldn’t mean compromising on comfort or style. At Nyhavn and Norhavn Lakeside Cottages, we are dog friendly and welcome up to two well-behaved dogs, but we’re just as focused on keeping the cottages feeling calm, fresh and beautifully looked after for every guest.
A Great Holiday For You – And Your Dog
Finding somewhere in the Cotswolds that genuinely welcomes dogs can still be surprisingly tricky. Many places don’t allow pets at all, or feel like you’re squeezing into a space that was never really designed with dogs in mind.
Here, dogs are very much part of the picture. There’s secure, furnished decking where you can sit with a coffee while your four-legged friend potters about, and you’re surrounded by lakeside paths and countryside walks from the moment you arrive. It’s easy to build your days around fresh air, sniffs, and slow strolls.
Fresh, Light and Stylish – Not “Doggy”
Just because dogs are welcome doesn’t mean the cottages feel like a kennel. Both Nyhavn and Norhavn are kept light, airy and stylish, with that relaxed New England feel that makes your break feel special from the moment you walk in.
We have clear but simple house rules – dogs are not allowed on the furniture or beds and mustn’t be left unattended – which helps us keep everything feeling clean and cared for. It means non-dog owners can book with confidence, and dog owners can enjoy a chic, comfortable base rather than “making do” in a tired pet-friendly property.
Walks On The Doorstep
Step outside and you’re straight into dog-walking territory. The Isis & Windrush Lakes development is set within the Cotswold Water Park, with lakeside paths, open spaces and plenty of routes to stretch both of your legs. There are longer walks in the surrounding countryside, and dog-friendly spots in the nearby towns of South Cerney and Cirencester if you fancy combining a stroll with a pub lunch or coffee.
A Treat, Not A Trade-Off
Our aim is simple: you shouldn’t have to choose between bringing your dog and staying somewhere that feels like a treat. At Nyhavn and Norhavn, you can do both. Enjoy the peace of the water, the comfort of a well-kept cottage and the joy of having your dog with you – without any of the “doggy” feel.
